WHAT IS Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV)?

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes infections of the lungs and respiratory tract. It's so common that most children have been infected with the virus by age 2. However, RSV can also infect adults.

RSV can cause severe infection in some people, especially premature babies, older adults, infants, and adults with heart and lung disease. Anyone with a weak immune system is more susceptible to contracting a severe infection.

RSV usually causes mild cold-like signs and symptoms including:

  • Congested or runny nose
  • Dry cough
  • Low-grade fever
  • Sore throat
  • Mild headache
  • Wheezing
  • Rapid breathing or difficulty breathing
  • Bluish color of the skin
  • Fever

eStudySite engages in investigative clinical trials of medications treating RSV. Qualified subjects participating in a trial receive study-related medical evaluations  and the investigative study medication at no cost, and may be eligible to receive financial compensation for time and travel cost.

If you suffer from RSV and would like to learn more, or volunteer for a study,  please fill out the form to the right, or call us at 619-704-2750.
